Cette luxueuse version du Rollei 2,8 GX, équipée d'un objectif Planar 80 mm f/ 2,8 fut remplacée, en 2002 par le Rollei 2,8 FX. Une version équipée d'un objectif grand angle mais au décor identique fut mise sur le marché en 2003, le Rolleiflex 4.0 FW.
