Chronology of cameras Leica
The Leica M6 was manufactured from 1984 (the ‘classic’), but the M6 TTL model was produced between 1998 and 2002. The shutter dial is larger and the speed scale reverse from the previous versions. The TTL implies an additional processing unit at the top plate, increasing the height of the camera by 2.5 mm, when compared to the M6 ‘classic’.
The camera is fully mechanical, and functions properly without batteries except for the light meter. The light meter is operated by gently pressing the shutter release button when the shutter is cocked and set to any position other than ‘B’ or ‘off’, remaining on for 10s. The shutter delivers speeds in the range 1 to 1/1000 plus B.
The viewfinder of this particular camera is x0.85, which projects framelines in pairs for 35-135 and 50-75 plus 90 mm, positioned automatically for the mounted lens.
