Chronology of cameras Chautard

This jumelle type camera features a winged logo, partially faded at its center, surmounted by the brand "Excelsior." The same logo is found on other devices bearing the name "Excelsior," and at the center of the logo, the letters P C (for Paul Chautard) or C&G (for Clement and Gilmer) are visible. Both companies used the same logo and brand.

However, everything leads to the belief that this camera was the work of Chautard because it presents exactly the same logo stamped on the metal body as a detective presenting exactly the same logo with the letters P C visible at the center.

There are five numbered speeds from 1 to 5 without indication of value.

Found in a sorry state at the bottom of a cellar, the restoration as well as the identification of this camera were not easy.
