Chronology of cameras Aires

Aires Camera was a small Japanese manufacturer active during the 1950s. Production began with twin-lens reflex cameras.

The brand is relatively unknown in France because the cameras were not imported there. If you happen to find one in France, it's likely to have been brought directly from Japan or the United States, where the brand was also present, notably distributed by Kalimar.

The highlight of the brand was a series of beautiful 35mm rangefinder cameras, very well made, although over time, the shutters often became frozen.
Cameras in this series were named "Aires 35," often followed by a number in Roman numerals.

The 35-III C model adopted a new design, resembling a Leica M, and featured parallax correction and a self-timer.

In 1959, it was sold for 110 dollars, while the Aires 35-III L was priced at 99.50 dollars. The 35-III model was no longer available for purchase at that time.
