Chronology of cameras Inconnue
The Tele-flash Fotopak FTF, manufactured in Singapore, features the "Ensign" logo from the English brand Houghton (the design is consistent). As Houghton ceased its operations in the 1960s, the camera is considered of unknown brand. However, this same logo is also found on the "Ensign Royale" model of binoculars from the Tasco brand.
Well-designed and sturdy, the Tele-flash Fotopak uses 110-format cartridge film. It has a dual focal length adjustment via a slider ("norm" and "tele"), and a movable lens in front of the viewfinder adjusts the framing according to the chosen focal length. The electronic flash is controlled by an On/Off button on the top.
There is also a model referred to as "FC" with a single focal length and no flash.
During collection visits, various models of 110-format cameras with many similarities are encountered, all manufactured in Singapore in the late 1970s. The term "pocketpak" (in lowercase) appears in the name of several of these models. The manufacturer remains unknown, although credit is given to them for a large number of cameras sold under various brands.
