Chronology of cameras Ricoh
This is the date version of the YF-20. The electronics for the date imprinting, including a third CRI215 battery, are contained within the back door. All of the examples seen so far have been in this deep blue-grey colour plastic.
The CdS cell does not vary exposure, but only warns the operator of low light by illuminating a diode in the viewfinder. The film sensitivity setting sets the appropriate aperture; F4 is only used when the flash is deployed. The switch to open the cover over the lens also functions as the infinity focus switch.
