Chronology of cameras Auguin
Albert Auguin is a discreet yet fairly prolific manufacturer. He filed patents for a curtain shutter with Joux in 1901 and for a guillotine shutter in 1905. As a manufacturer, he oversaw the production of Jacquet film magazines, used by many distributors, and Jumelle type cameras, both simple and stereo, without his name appearing on them.
In addition to using the Jacquet magazine and his shutter design, his cameras featured a retractable sighting post that could be pushed into the body of the camera. These characteristics can be found in the Photo-Amateur, the Giraud Stéréographe, the Joux Aléthoscope, the Astre stereo jumelle type camera, the Tiranty Vérographe, and the Tuffery Aléthoscope.

The Luciphote is a stereo-panoramic binocular camera with a 6 x 13 format, made entirely of metal with a black lacquered brass body. The body and magazine form an almost perfect parallelepiped, measuring 160 x 75 x 125 mm. The construction is very meticulous, with numerous screws used for assembly.
It is equipped with a Jacquet magazine, which Auguin had been producing since 1903. To switch to panoramic mode, the septum is automatically flipped to the base of the chamber, but one must remember to pull out the sighting post. A 10 mm upward shift is possible.
Two tripod mounts with Congress thread are provided. The second mount, on the port side, is needed for vertical positioning in panoramic mode.
In conclusion, this is a high-quality piece of equipment, discreetly hiding its 120 years of age!
