Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
If the Baby-Box had a very long career, the very first version made only a brief appearance. Launched in April 1930, it was first called Box-Tengor 3 x 4, until October of the same year. It disappeared in April 1932, because from October 1931, a second version recognizable by the metal hexagon of the front face, took over.
Apart from this decoration, nothing differs from one version to another. It is a small box to be used with a film 127. The negatives measure 3 x 4 cm. The manufacturing is metallic, covered with an imitation leather. The lens is a 5 cm focal length Frontar, opening at f / 11. There is a single speed, the 1/25, and the B exposure. Its viewfinder is very simple and undoubtedly, also, very inaccurate.
The camera is also available with a f/6.3 Novar lens.
