Chronology of cameras Aires
This camera is truly beautiful. It would be the last 35mm rangefinder camera from the brand, which unfortunately faced a sad demise due to not being able to develop an interchangeable lens reflex camera quickly enough.
Inspired by the rounded design of the Leica M3 upon its release, Aires created its 35-III C and especially this ultimate Radar Eye model.
The Radar Eye features a coupled selenium light meter, an H Coral 1.9/45mm lens, and most notably, the brand new SEIKO shutter, the SLS, which, for the first time in a 35mm rangefinder camera with a central shutter, allowed for a shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second!
The viewfinder is collimated with a frame covering the 45mm lens, and parallax correction is automatic. It weighs over 800 grams.
With only about a thousand units produced, this superb model is rarely encountered.
