Chronology of cameras Balda
This scientific instrument bears no visible brand, but there is no doubt that it is a Balda. Its general features are in line with the great tradition of the brand, especially its base.
Like many scientific cameras for micro-photography, this instrument lacks a shutter but has an "on-off" flap activated during shooting by the shutter module. Depending on its use, it can employ the shutter from a module for micro-photography or an independent shutter, as is the case here. A Prontor Press is mounted on the eyepiece of the micro system; in this instance, an Austrian Reichert.
The trigger helps prevent unintentional double exposure. The rare instances where this instrument was encountered along with some micro-photo instruments, those instruments were always Reichert.
