Chronology of cameras Finetta-Werk

Traduction de Daniel Clément

The body is made of chromium plated metal. Surface is silk finish or glossy.
Some parts are made from light alloys .

The grey cover skin is a synthetic material that was named “pegamoïd” at the time. We may find the same covering on some Semflex .

The surface aspect of the covering skin reminds those of some Pontiac but Pontiac surface decoration was obtained directly from casting.

There is a big cylinder at right side which houses a spring. It is used to wind the film and to cock the shutter.

I ignore if this system allows a 36 views type 135 film to be  exposed. This is probable because the system is quit big.

The shutter is a focal (curtain) type (25e au 1000e + B). There is a connection for flash synchronisation sized 3.5 mm .

The lens is a FINETAR (with a single T) f: 2,8 F = 45 mm closing down to 16. It must be noticed that the diaphragm setting is performed by turning a black ring located around the front lenses.

But the must interesting feature is that this camera has a dual system to fit different lenses to the body .

Lenses has threaded mount (35.5 mm diameter) . They screw into an intermediate ring which has a rectangular shaped groove .

As we approach the lens and ring assembly close to the body and then simply push, two wire type springs insert into the groove.

Removing the lens needs the two wire springs to be pushed outside of the groove. This is done by means of two tiny cylinders. Unfortunately, the left side one has been lost.

Possessing one intermediate ring for each lens allows to change lenses as quickly as using a bayonet mount (Considering that they were no coupling between lens and body)

The lens does not show any serial number.

Body number is 059244
