It has an elegant body with soft contours, and a 38-105 mm lens. The handgrip facilitates holding with the index finger on the release. The zoom control is on the back and operated with the thumb. The lens zooms in intervals of about 5 mm with a quick flick of the thumb.
Also on the back and to the right of the viewfinder are the buttons controlling the flash mode, self timer and burst mode. The commands selected are displayed on the LCD screen.
Unusually there is a switch on the base of the camera to turn the red eye reduction 'on' or 'off'.
