Konica FP-1

Tranduction de Alphonse Khuu

The FP-1 (F for future) is a full automatic camera. It is impossible to set manually any other features, except of the range. The willingness of Konica was to make more attractive the SLR market for the point-and-shoot photographers who are used with compact cameras.

This camera looks like an UFO among the cameras giving the program mode BESIDES more usual AE exposures. These limitations made it met no success. The CdS cell was considered too old.

The program mode provides shutter speeds from 1/30 at f/2.8 to 1/1000 at f/11 at three apertures: 2.8, 5.6 and 11.

In front of this camera, we see on the right a screw cap that hides the terminal connector. This connector can receive an electric cable switch or a remote control. The big window beneath the shutter is the self-timer light.
