Chronology of cameras Seroa

Traduction de Dan Fromm.

After production in Germany by Metz stopped in 1958, the Mecaflex resurfaced in Monaco thanks to the firm S.E.R.O.A. (Optical and Acoustic Research & Development Corporation).

One notes that the new manufacturer retained the M of Metz, previous commercial distributor, in its logo.  All the same, the lens, although a Benoist Berthiot, is engraved “Lic Kilfitt,” en reference to the designer and original maker.

It is the only French 24 x 24 reflex (almost, because Monegasque).  The shutter speeds are B, 1, … , 1/250.

The interchangeable Benoist Berthiot lens is 40/2.8.  It is s/n 96354.  It has four elements, is coated.  The alternative was a three element 40/3.5.
