Chronology of cameras Spirotechnique
Le Calypsophot est né en 1956 de la collaboration du Commandant Jacques Cousteau et de l’ingénieur belge Jean De Wouters. Construit par la société ATOMS de Nice, il était distribué par la Spirotechnique.
Le Calypso est le premier appareil conçu pour la photo sous l’eau. Le format est en théorie 24x36 sur film 135, mais l’avancement ne tient pas compte des perforations et l’écart entre les photos n’étant pas constant, il y avait de mauvaises surprises au retour de développement des Kodachrome II...
Le corps est en alu, gainage "peau de requin" synthétique. L' objectif est interchangeable. Le levier d’armement sert aussi de déclencheur, une molette prévenant les déclenchements intempestifs. L'obturateur est performant puisqu'il permet les vitesses B 30 60 125 250 500 1000.
La marque Calypso est gravé en bas du boîtier. (N° 2728)
