Les 500 ST, ZF, ME et RF furent présentés ensemble à la Photokina de 1980.
Le ST n'est pas à visée télémétrique. C'est un automatique avec priorité à la vitesse. Il peut être débrayé pour fonctionner en mode manuel. L'ouverture relevée par le posemètre est indiquée dans le viseur.
Il est motorisable, car la semelle possède les couplages nécessaires pour connecter le moteur mécanique Winder SP. Celui-ci se remonte à la main et permet d'entraîner l'appareil pour une dizaine de prises de vue.
L'appareil peut fonctionner à toutes les vitesses et toutes les ouvertures même sans pile EPX 675, cela fait de l'ensemble boîtier / moteur un sacré outil. De plus son objectif de 40 mm ouvrant à 2,8 est idéal pour le petit reportage imprévu. Il trouvera sa place au fond d'une poche.
