Chronology of cameras Balda
The bellows' struts have an uncommon shape. What is also surprising is the excessive use of shiny metal on the front face. As seen with another camera from the same brand, this use of stamped metal is not unusual for the brand but is often a factor in poor preservation of the cameras.
In this case, on the front face, the metallic components correspond to the selection of the aperture (at the top): 11, 16, and 22, achieved by moving a plate pierced with holes of various sizes; the choice of shutter speed: B or M (instantaneous in German); the choice of distance: P or the infinity symbol, adjusted by moving a hood for P.
An internal cover allows for the selection of one of the two formats for this camera: 3 x 4 or 4 x 6.5. The two characteristic rear counting windows facilitate this choice.
