Chronology of cameras Pentax
The Espio 105 SW was also known as the IQZoom 105 SW in the USA. There is no indication on the camera that this is a date version, other than a third button on the top behind the LCD screen. The date fuction is fully integrated into the camera and uses the same LCD and battery.
This model and its sister the Espio 120 SW, must be two of the best specified compacts ever made for film; there were not many with a 28 mm lens. But there were some compromises. The maximum aperture of the lens was relatively small particularly at the telephoto end, the battery was too small to provide power for many rolls of film, and its small size would have made it relatively expensive to make.
It was assembled in the Philippines, presumably from components made either in Japan or China. It has provision for remote release. It was also available in a silver finish.
