Chronology of cameras Kodak

The replacement of the Medalist was late. Kodak, for the new "top of the range" 620 decides to take the general appearance of the Signet 35. The profusion of chromed metal immediately evokes the large American cars of the 50s.

If the shape of the Chevron is slightly less cubical than that of the Medalist, dimensions are nearly identical.
There is the principle of rangefinder separated from the viewfinder but met in the sight eyepiece so that a slight movement of the eye (not the head) is enough to switch from the rangefinder to the viewfinder and vice versa.
The lens is mounted on a single helical ramp. The big film advancing wheel has been replaced by a real lever on the left. The trigger that was on the body of the camera in the case of the Medalist is on the side of the lens. It is the strange metal piece that comes out of the body and is extended by a contact with the lens .

At the back, right next to the viewfinder, is a small slider the use of which is to insert a filter improving contrast for eyeglass wearers.
It is possible to insert an adapter for film 828 (Bantam). At the top of the camera, a pivoting screw adjusts the finder to the surface of the film used.

On the front face of the shutter is an interesting cursor marked M, F and X separated by several graduations. Each one corresponding to a delay between the ignition of the flash lamp and the opening of the shutter. The letters correspond to different types of flash.
