Chronology of cameras Pentax
Traduction de Manuel M
Difficult to believe that this camera has more than 50 years, so much its general aspect is close to the reflex cameras which we knew until the arrival of the plastic.
Directly in competition with cameras like the Praktina FX or the Miranda, the Pentax was the first model of the brand with a pentaprism. It is also very innovating to have on the same camera, a cocking lever and a crank.
On Internet, one reads that the name Pentax was bought to Pentacon. I do not know if it is reality. What is sure it is the name became that of the brand thereafter.
This camera, full of qualities, was a big success and its design, was copied a long time…
One finds this camera in the Sears catalogue of 1958, under the name of Tower 26.
