Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
Traduction de Manuel M
When in 1926, the Contessa-Nettel Ernemann, Goerz and Ica companies merge to form Zeiss Ikon, the former cameras Cocarette of Contessa Nettel are slightly modified and marketed by Zeiss Ikon.
The former camera Cocarette 210 thus becomes N° 514/2 of the range Zeiss Ikon, and continues its commercial career from 1926 to 1927.
The camera presented here is really Zeiss Ikon. The leatherette at the top of the front part of the body as well as the part making it possible to get out the bellows ahead bear the famous name…. but on the leather handle is reproduced in hollow the inscription “Cocarette 210”. The stock must indeed be used.
The characteristic of this camera is that it does not open classically using a back on hinge but the film holder slides laterally a little as for Leica.
This device preventing the access to the back of the lens for a cleaning or a maintenance, a screwed circular plate was added with the centre of the back by its designers for this purpose.
