Where others only succeeded in making the ugly one with Aluminum, Mr. Laroche, in full German occupation succeeded in creating beautiful 3 X 4 ( 127 film), where sleeving is replaced by grooves of aluminum painted in black. Nonglad to be beautiful, moreover, it is good thanks to its retracting Berthiot 3,5 (or 2,8) , and to its speeds going up to 1/500ème. Its diaphragm ring, at the end of the lens, is of a very great flexibility.
There are several combinations of 50 mm lenses. This one is a Flor Berthiot 3,5/50mm.
On the site of the receiving reel, it appears in the moulding the logo “Aluvac” followed by a number (here 3823).
Lynx II will meet a great success until 1950. The MFAP (French Manufacture of Cameras), to follow the market trends will launch then Super Lynx, but this 24 X 36 will never have the success of its elder.
In 1951, the MFAP will be transferred from the quay of Jemmapes of the 10th district from Paris in Casablanca where it will disappear definitively in 1954, after to have manufactured there the Baby-lynx and the Super-Lynx.
Lynx was distributed to the USA by General Photographic Supply Co. In May 1950, it was sold $135.
