Chronology of cameras Ricoh
Although it was sold by Riken, the Zessan was build by Mori.
The 3 lenses optic, Roico or Seica depending on the unit, being produced by Riken .
The optical block is attached to a collapsible tube.
The Seikosha shutter is enjoying a kind of remote-trigger.
Normally with this type of shutter "Everset" arming and triggering are on the heels of one to the other.
When inserting a pin or needle into the hole below the optical then actuating the lever, the shutter is armed but the triggering is delayed, the shutter fires only when the needle is removed.
So with a needle and thread long enough you got a remote control... so you don't need to run to be on the picture.
All "litch" shutter don't have this feature (see the Minion), but the Zessan shares this with the Kinsi for exemple.
This diagram created by VB allows us to measure the complexity of Ricoh's history.
