This camera is a legend, so that Kodak made a replica (non-functional) to commemorate the centenary of the company in 1988.
It is simply the first Kodak camera!
It is a wooden box, covered with thin leather, which was bought loaded. It allowed to take 100 shots and had to be sent back to Kodak developing, printing and reloading. Each time the unit was rebuilt, it was surrounded by a string fitted with a seal. The user had to start cutting it. The cocking of the shutter is done by pulling several times (up to resistance) on a cord attached to a tassel.
The aiming of the photo is very approximate, since there is no viewfinder. A small card is given at the same time as the device, on which are drawn two lines showing the angle of view. Therefore put that card on top of the unit when aiming for an idea (approximate) of what will be in the photo. We must not forget that the resulting image will be ... circular (diameter about 6.5 cm)!
The trigger, if the camera is held in accordance with the recommendations of Kodak, falls under the left thumb. The key used to advance the film is at the top of the unit. Right next to it is a brass piece that rotates with the photographer turns the key. Two lines must be brought to coincidence to know that the key was rotated enough.
Once done, you have to think about re cocking the shutter. It is a cylinder positioned horizontally
After 100 views, we must pack up the unit to return it ... and wait.
