Chronology of cameras Ica

Ica AG (International Camera Aktien Gesellschaft) was established in 1909 through the merger of the companies Huttig, Krugener, Wuensche, and Carl Zeiss Palmos, with Zulauf joining in 1911.

Several years were required to finalize this merger, during which production relied on the expertise of each of the founding companies. From this period, you can find some original models, but also often copies from one or another of the previous brands bearing the name Ica, sometimes even not listed in an Ica catalog and without a specific model code.

It was from 1912 that the situation stabilized, and the various camera models began to follow a certain coherence until 1926, when Ica ceased to exist. It was absorbed, along with others, into Zeiss Ikon.

__________

Adjusting the distance is done by means of a lever that can be seen protruding on the photo. The lateral displacement of the lever causes a back and forth (and reverse) movement of the rectangular plate that supports the two lenses. On top of the camera, there is a reflex viewfinder, the front window of which is between the two lens. A part of this viewfinder therefore moves with the plate. A mirror reflects the image to the upper viewfinder. The existence of the mirror prevents lateral movement of the plate and therefore the model can not be transformed into panoramic.
It is equipped with a magazine for 45x107 mm size plates, with a capacity of 12 plates.
Between the two lenses, a wheel is for the aperture setting. The one on the left, marked with the ICA logo is the speed adjustment.
The magazine has a counter view. Once the magazine is removed, a serial number appears on the back of the camera body. There it is G 86426.
