Chronology of cameras Bencini
The Comet is a small camera, manufactured in die-cast aluminum alloy. It will be the first Bencini camera using this material, along with the Relex. It has only basic functions. The choice between timed and instant exposure is made through a small tab located on the side of the shutter. The lens is positioned at the end of a fixed tube, characterized by its serrated shape molded into the mass. The negative format is 3.5 x 4 cm.
The model name was carefully chosen to capitalize on the excitement surrounding the first commercial jet, the De Havilland Comet.
This small camera will evolve over time with the Comet S, equipped with a sync socket for a flash. And with the Comet II, whose lens mounted on a retractable tube further reduces the volume of the camera.
