Chronology of cameras Kodak

Kodak having its films numbered chronologically from the number 101, looking at the film code of this unit, we may conclude that we are here at the beginning of Kodak's history. With this film providing a 4 x 5 inch negative, Kodak tries to seduce lovers of large format. To attract them even more, an adapter for plates is available. Kodak will use the same strategy with the No. 3 Cartridge (4 1/4 x 3 1/4 in 1900) and No. 5 Cartridge (7 x 5 in 1898).

Meticulously manufactured, this camera is made of wood covered with grosgrain leather. The massive metal parts are brass, others are nickel-plated.

No. 4 Cartridge will be available in several versions. This is the first. It is distinguished by the massive use of wood, and the position to the right of the connection to the pneumatic trigger.
