Remaining faithful to the tradition of the Comet series, Bencini utilized aluminum for this Cometa, but the result is somewhat unattractive, with the silhouette being burdened by a very tall top cover to house a large vertical viewfinder. Decorative plates, which are unnecessary, are symmetrically screwed around the viewfinder window. They do not enhance the overall appearance.
The shutter is slightly more advanced than in previous models. B, 1/50, and 1/100 are possible shutter speeds. There is a choice between two apertures: f/9 and f/16. There is a distance setting on the lens.
The two unusual features of this model are the accessory shoe located UNDER the camera and, most notably, the way to open the back of the camera. Around the viewfinder, there is a notched ring that might suggest a diopter correction; however, by unscrewing it completely, the back is released.
