Le célèbre constructeur d'objectifs lança simultanément, fin 1979, trois nouveaux boîtiers : XV1, XV2 et XV3.
Le XV1, qu'on peut considérer comme le plus basique des trois est un reflex semi-automatique, avec une cellulle CdS.
Le XV2 est un automatique à priorité à l'ouverture, avec cellule au Silicum.
Le XV3 est un automatique à priorité à l'ouverture et semi-automatique à pleine ouverture, à cellule au Silicium.
