Chronology of cameras Kodak

Good luck to the collector/researcher who would like to tackle the study of the numerous variants of Kodak cameras! The same names have been used during several decades with some small aesthetic changes to the cameras.

With regard to the No 1 Pocket, there are already a number of variants on the site:

With the same stand, but with a different surround of the lens.

With a different stand, and "Made in Canada".

With a third model of stand.

With a red bellows for the Canadian version.

With a different plate under the lens.

(Non exhaustive list)

For all these versions, we know the release date of the initial model, but it is difficult to establish a chronology.

In any case, it is a non-automatic folding: after unfolding the front door, one has to manually slide out the trolley carrying the lens until the small chrome lever fits into place in the slot on the rail located next to the focus distances scale.

The focusing is then done using the little knurled wheel. This allows fine tuning of the bellows extension, by monitoring the tab pointing at the distance plate.
