Chronology of cameras Pentax

This camera was presented to the PMA in 1990. It was awarded "European Camera of the Year" in 1990/91. It has many features including:

Step and continuous zoom, Five flash modes + "B" (program 1/2 -60 seconds), up to four exposures on one frame, continuous shooting (1:1,3 sec), shooting at intervals (time to start , number to 36, interval 3 seconds -12 hours), up to five exposures on timer, a 'super macro' mode to 45 cm, exposure compensation (+/- 3EV in 0.5 EV steps)  provision for remote electronic release by cable, an adjustable viewfinder, automatic variation of flash angle, and a large illuminated LCD screen. Although the lens is said to zoom continuously, in practice it has six steps at 38,46,55,70, 85 and 105mm. Many of the function icons are tiny and hard to read.

Despite its many functions, it is large, heavy, unnecessarily complicated and difficult to use, and it was expensive (at 680 DM); it has no real wide angle, and it is not a beautiful thing to look at. (Why not buy an SLR?) It was also available with a date back.  It was one of the last significant compacts without red eye reduction. It appears to be the same as the IQ Zoom 105 Super sold in the USA.
