Le millésime 1986 de la Photokina fut prolifique en compacts. On notera en les regardant que la mode était alors aux formes anguleuses. Le PC-555 et le PC-333 (son petit frère) n'y échappent pas.
Le PC-555 est un compact autofocus très classique par ses caractéristiques techniques et qui ne mérite pas qu'on s'y attarde très longtemps. Pentax à produit un PC- 555 Date.
