Franka Rolfix

This folder, very classic, shows a nice Art Deco shutter front plate that reminds some of Kodak cameras of the same category

It is a Rolfix produced by Franka Werk

The Rolfix  are folding cameras  manufactured in countless versions and variations (e.g. lens and shutters) and marketed between circa 1931 and the middle of the fifties.

On this version, the "L"  shaped parts at the front of the struts mechanism are the evidence of a early model manufactured between circa 1931 and 1937.

We may find a very similar camera on a BHV catalog dated 1939.

Some Rolfix were fitted with French lenses and sometime with Gitzo shutters. Probably for sales in France. This one is equipped with an "Armor" lens. This lens is also shown on the camera of the BHV catalog. Is it a name specific  to cameras sold by this Paris department store ? For the time being, nothing can confirm this possibility.
