Chronology of cameras Zeiss Ikon
The Piccolette, initially manufactured by the Contessa-Nettel company in Stuttgart, continued to be produced after 1926, the year Zeiss Ikon was founded. It was clearly a response to Kodak's Vest-Pocket camera but lacked the ability to write on a portion of the film, as was the case with American Autographic versions. The models closely resembled each other, except for the front plate, with one end of it serving as a stand when in a vertical position.
The Piccolette features two viewfinders: a pivoting rectifying viewfinder hidden behind the front plate and a sports finder with its front frame sliding under this plate, and a reticle that slides into a round piece attached to the back. As is typical with Zeiss Ikon, there are numerous combinations of lenses and shutters available for this camera.
