Chronology of cameras Kinax
Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.
Kinax III is a tri-format. On a 620 film, it was possible to take , with the choice, 8 6X9 views or 12 6X6 views or 16 4X6 views. These possibilities explains the complexity of its finder. The finder of the body, when it is used only, corresponds to 6 X 9. This finder folding has two lenses with correction of parallax. It is unfolded automatically with the aperture of the camera, but it is possible to fold up it constantly. Then, the unfolding becomes a little more difficult, because it is necessary to insert tiny a small metal end which levels hardly edge of the finder; a pointed object is welcome or then it is necessary to close then to reopen the camera. No moment, it is necessary to draw on the finder from the body to try to unfold it! The tilting and retractable metal framework which supplements this finder allows framing in 6 X 6 or 4 X 6.
The shutter release is on the body. Shutter IPO allows the two exposures and speeds from the second to the 1/350 . It is provided with a retarder and a synchro-flash.
Kinax III exists with a 4,5/105 mm Flor Berthiot lens (4 lenses) or 4,5/105mm Saphir Boyer (4 lenses) or 4,5/105 mm Angénieux (3 lenses) or 4,5/105mm Berthiot (3 lenses).
In 1952, this camera was worth 20860 francs at Photo-Plait with the lenses with 3 lenses and 23410 with the 4 lenses.
