Chronology of cameras Ricoh
This is the chrome version of the TLS 401 often referred to as a "Singlex", because it is clearly derived from the Singlex TLS. That name does not occur on the camera or in the handbook. The 42 mm thread allowed a wide range of lenses to be used including the contemporary Pentax Takumar lenses. Ricoh also provided a range of lenses for the Singlex range which could be used on this camera.
The second viewfinder on the top of the prism is described as a "waist level" finder, but in fact it can only be used by putting the eye up close to it, unlike historic models which had a larger viewing screen.
This diagram created by VB allows us to measure the complexity of Ricoh's history.
1913 | A few Japanese scientists had the idea of establishing a research institute. |
1915 | The proposal for the creation of the Rikagaku Kenkyūsho Institute of Physical and Chemical Research is presented to the Japanese parliament. |
1917 | The Riken Institute and Foundation are established. |
1927 | The Rikagaku Kõgyõ K.K. is created to manufacture and distribute products resulting from research, such as photographic papers. |
