Minolta Hi-Matic 7s

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand

Hi-Matic are cameras with rangefinder and fixed lens.

Minolta 7s is an evolution of 1962's Minolta 7. The evolution consists of the addition of a synchronization on the accessory clip and of the CLC - Contrasting Light Compensation - (write on the circumference of the lens). The CLC makes it possible to correct the exposure of the subjects with strong contrast. The principle rests on the use of two CdS cells . In a traditional composition of a photograph of landscape, one of these two cells would take measurement on the ground and the other on the sky. A compensation of two measurements would allow an exposure correction.

The lens is Rokkor 45 mm which opens to 1,8. The shutter allows speeds of 1/4 to 1/500 of second. Exposure is controlled by a Cds cell.
The camera requires a mercury battery , untraceable today because of its toxicity
