Chronology of cameras Canon
Starting from the late 1950s, Canon expanded its range of rangefinder cameras by manufacturing a new type of camera, the single-lens reflex (SLR), which had previously been overlooked by the brand. Demand grew worldwide, whether from professionals or amateurs. However, Canon had to produce multiple models before offering one that could compete with the leading professional market model, the Nikon F.

__________The Canon AT-1 is the little brother of the Canon AE-1, sharing its external design. Chronologically, it was the second in the A series. It replaced the FTb from the previous series.
The AT-1 is a semi-automatic camera, meaning you have to select both the shutter speed and aperture. However, unlike a fully manual camera, it offers assistance in the form of a needle and a circle that you align in the viewfinder. There is no indication of the selected shutter speed or aperture in the viewfinder.
While this operation might not offer much creative freedom, it allowed beginners to handle the camera well.
The purchase invoice for this unit, dated 02/06/79, indicates that the camera, with its standard lens—the widely used FD 1.8/50 mm—was sold for 1,390 francs at that time.
