Chronology of cameras Canon
Starting from the late 1950s, Canon expanded its range of rangefinder cameras by manufacturing a new type of camera, the single-lens reflex (SLR), which had previously been overlooked by the brand. Demand grew worldwide, whether from professionals or amateurs. However, Canon had to produce multiple models before offering one that could compete with the leading professional market model, the Nikon F.

__________Its design is innovative, adopting rounded shapes attributed to Colani.
At the top of its era within the brand, it offers seven exposure modes: shutter speed priority, aperture priority, program, multi-program, manual, manual with closed diaphragm, and automatic with closed diaphragm.
It automatically recognizes the film sensitivity through its DX code.
Its motor allows reaching 4.5 frames per second. There is a choice between three light metering modes: center-weighted, selective metering, or spot metering, with the ability to memorize exposure for 8 different points.
