Chronology of cameras Mamiya
The NC 1000 is similar to the NC 1000 S dated 1977. The differences are relatively few. On the NC 1000, the focusing screen is not interchangeable. Other disappearance, oh so petty, is the reminder frame on the back!
This camera is automatic with speed priority. The position of the speed ring is unusual because it is located around the lens. The advantage is that all settings are grouped. The orange button on the aperture ring to allows to switch from automatic to manual mode. The power is on when the cocking lever is taken away from the body which makes moving up a small button in the center of the lever. By pressing this button, the cocking lever goes back into place and the power is off.
The shutter ranges from 1/1000 to 1 second. It also allows the bulb exposure. There is a self timer, whose lever is visible in front.
There is a shoe with a flash sync X, and there are two coaxial sync connections.
The aluminum body gives a suitable lightness to this unit for vintage camera users sore cervical .
With no batteries or if they are too weak, the device triggers but at a single speed, probably the 1/60 or 1 / 90th. Batteries, two in number, are UCAR 357.
The focusing is done using a split image rangefinder, a microprism area and ground glass.
If the NC 1000 is an low cost version of the NC 1000 S (it comes with a 2/50 mm), it has the great advantage of receiving all the accessories provided for the NC 1000 S.
