Chronology of cameras Vivitar
Offered as a gift by the Sélection Reader's Digest, the Vivitar IC 101 Panorama is a very rudimentary device. There is no adjustment, only the slider located under the lens needs to be moved to reveal the lens. The panorama function consists of a loss of more than 50% of the surface of the negative by the permanent insertion of two horizontal masks in the darkroom. The viewfinder perfectly shows the reduction in the useful height. In the laboratory, each print was given to the customer at worst with two white bands, at best trimmed. There is nothing panning in the shot itself.
There is no built-in flash or hot shoe for an accessory flash. The manual, in 5 European languages, however mentions the flash shooting distance! A thorough examination makes it possible to find the shoe hidden by an irremovable cover. The instructions are common to several models, and the main part of the device is common to several models; There are no small savings.
The publisher's logo appears discreetly on the back.
Vivitar has nothing to do with the manufacture of this device, straight out of an unnamed Chinese factory. The brand name is used under license to give some flair to a device that has none.
Only quality of this new device, I did not buy it, the "salesman" gave it to me on a Sunday morning.
