Tel qu'écrit dans le catalogue Photo-Hall, le nom de cet appareil amène de la confusion. A lire Platos, on pense à un appareil de distributeur français, en l'occurrence Photo-Plait. Sauf qu'ici nous sommes dans un catalogue concurrent ... qui s'est trompé en orthographiant le modèle. Son véritable nom est Plastoscope et non Platoscope.
Il s'agit d'un modèle fabriqué par Krugener au tournant du siècle. Sa partie avant est en aluminium, très blanc. Le viseur sert également de bouchon pour les deux objectifs. Un rond de velour rouge vient s'appliquer devant chacun des deux. Le corps est métallique, mais gainé.
Ce modèle sera rebaptisé en Plascop par le constructeur quelques années après le début de sa commercialisation.
