Chronology of cameras Zenith Film Corp.

Originally manufactured by Webster Industries Inc, the Winpro 35 is presented as the first fully molded plastic camera. The patents for the Winpro 35 were filed by Julius Henne (a former from Kodak).

It was sold for $ 10.95 when it was released and 150,000 were sold in the first two years. Webster subsequently encountered difficulties and became (or was acquired by) Zenith Film Corp. The camera presented bears the latter mark.

It has three apertures (1 to 3) selectable by swivel paddle, the time mode and two synchronization connections for flash on the cover.

The view counter is special: it is a large disc on the body base, it is pierced with two openings; while film advancing, the disc makes one revolution and the frame number appears through one of the openings. To open the back, you have to lower and then rotate the strap attachments.

At least three patents protect specific features of this model.

Patent n°2 493 195, , January 3, 1950, filed by Julius Henne, for the shutter.

Patent n° 2 481 665, of September 13, 1949, filed by Julius Henne, for the film winding mechanism.

Patent n° 2 474 397,, of September 13, 1949, filed by Julius Henne, for the strap attachment system.
