Chronology of cameras Polaroid

Polaroid launched at the end of the 90s, a new concept (not so much) of camera. It was a reusable disposable. Because it was instant development, unlike typical disposables, labs could not collect it and send it to a processing circuit during film development. Polaroid therefore asked its user to return it free of charge by post to a service that would reload it with film. In exchange, the user received a coupon for the next one. This was announced by Polaroid in the USA.

In Europe, for each camera returned, Polaroid pledged to pay one euro to the United Nations Committee for the fight against AIDS (Bravo!)

The body has a very particular design, with ergonomics in mind. Suddenly, it looks a bit like Cdt Cousteau's diving saucer. There is no focus. Almost everything is plastic, including the lens. It seems that the shutter speed adjustment is automatic. The photos obtained measure 11.2 x 6.4 cm.

The name Pop Shots was registered for Canada and the European Union, by Polaroid in 1998. For the USA, Sakar International Inc. made the request in 1997. Sakar having sold under the name Pop Shots II a very basic 35mm camera, it looks like Polaroid had the rug pulled out from under it and couldn't protect that name in the US.
