Le caplio Pro G3 est doté d'un port pour carte mémoire SD et d'un port pour carte mémoire Compact Flash. Ce dernier est utilisé sur la version Pro pour connecter un récepteur GPS SiRFStar III BC-337 de GlobalSat. L'appareil enregistre les coordonnées GPS fournies par le récepteur lors de la prise de vue. L'appareil est fourni avec un logiciel permettant de géolocaliser les photos.
La datation de ce modèle n'est pas claire, car il semble que Ricoh l'ait annoncé plusieurs fois, avec ou sans le récepteur GPS.
