Le Caplio R7 dispose d'un zoom stabilisé, dont la focale la plus courte équivaut à 28 mm (enfin !), ce qui le rend très intéressant à avoir dans une poche pour le baroudeur ou le photographe de rue. Ce zoom n'est cependant pas très lumineux... dommage.
Bien que classé comme compact expert, il lui manque les modes d'exposition courants : priorité vitesse, ouverture etc. Et enfin, les images sont beaucoup trop lissées.
