Le Caplio 500SE est fabriqué pour résister à la poussière et aux projections d'eau. Ce baroudeur embarque un module GPS, ainsi qu'une boussole numérique. L'enregistrement des informations fournies par l'un et l'autre permet de positionner sur certains systèmes d'informations géographiques, dont Gogole Earth, l'endroit et l'angle de la prise de vue.
Plus étrangement, le Caplio 500SE est doté de la lecture de codes-barres. Une telle fonction peut être utile aux professionnels de la logistique qui souhaitent effectuer des constats de l'état de marchandises par une photo, en insérant dans l'EXIF le code de la marchandise.
