Chronology of cameras Balda
The Balda Ideal cameras are folding cameras in the 6.5 x 11 format. The first model was launched in 1930, requiring assistance to open the folding door. It wasn't until the Ideal I in 1933 that the new struts with automatic opening were introduced. The Ideal III (1933) can also be used with a 6.5 x 9 cm plate.
__________Equipped with a Topaz Boyer 4.5/20 mm lens, this Ideal I model was adapted for sale in France. It is likely that it is a distributor's camera, as there is no reference to the Balda brand. The lens number (139884) indicates a manufacturing date of 1935.
A similar camera, but with a Luminor lens, was sold by Manufrance around 1935 under the reference 10-130.
