Chronology of cameras Ica

Ica AG (International Camera Aktien Gesellschaft) was established in 1909 through the merger of the companies Huttig, Krugener, Wuensche, and Carl Zeiss Palmos, with Zulauf joining in 1911.

Several years were required to finalize this merger, during which production relied on the expertise of each of the founding companies. From this period, you can find some original models, but also often copies from one or another of the previous brands bearing the name Ica, sometimes even not listed in an Ica catalog and without a specific model code.

It was from 1912 that the situation stabilized, and the various camera models began to follow a certain coherence until 1926, when Ica ceased to exist. It was absorbed, along with others, into Zeiss Ikon.

Les Trilby sont un héritage de la marque Hüttig intégré lors de la fusion des marques aboutissant à la création d'ICA. Ce Trilby N° 5 a bien été fabriqué par ICA, comme l'atteste le logo gravé à l'intérieur du dos.

Il reçoit 6 plaques au format 6 x 9 cm. Le mécanisme de chute de la plaque est très rustique (une simple languette qui s'efface) et il n'y a pas de compteur de vues.

Une tirette à œillets donne deux ouvertures. Les vitesses sont limitées à l'instantané et la pose T ; le mécanisme de réglage n'est pas courant : une simple vis papillon déplace le déclencheur.

Le viseur est simple et ne permet pas la visée au format paysage; son large rebord donne une esthétique particulière à cet appareil d'entrée de gamme. Les formes du loquet et de l'armenent sont élégantes.

Le poids indiqué dans un catalogue ICA d'époque est de 520 g, celui-ci ne pèse que 460 g (sans plaques ni supports).
