Chronology of cameras Guilleminault et Poisot

Traduction de Manuel M

(Photo-Revue May 1900) the Minuscule* is designed for 12 plates or 24 rigid films. It is entirely built out of metal, and, as its name wants to indicate it, it is the most reduced which come out to day. Its volume (13 x 10 x 6 per 6.5 x 9, or 20 x 11 x 7 per 9 x 12) is more or less the same one as that of an ordinary magazine. Its functioning is so simple as that of a jumelle camera, it is enough to press on a button so that it is ready to photograph.
The change of plates is of the well known type of drawer, which spreads all chances of failed by the retraction. The optical unit, with long focal distance, particularly neat, is of the company E. Français,
well-known for the care taken in the choice of its lens and the finishing of its mounts. The camera is also done with Zeiss lenses.

To supplement our presentation, we will have to point out that this camera, thanks to its special shape, easily places in the frame  of a bicycle, like instead of the satchel of tools; that it places on foot, in the two directions; that its shutter, of a special and very neat manufacturing, is high efficiency, with instantaneous or optional pose. Lastly, we did not can insist too much on this point that its volume is tiny to the quarter of that of the similar cameras, and that its weight is approximately 400 grams lighter than a Detective with same format.

Price of the Minuscule camera 6.5 x 9 / 9 x 12
With rectilinear lens of E. Français 195 francs / 225 francs
With lens anastigmat Zeiss 275

Note of the translator: Minuscule = tiny in french
